Chaminade Students Inducted as Hogan Entrepreneurs
Chaminade University has inducted its seventh class-- 30 students-- into its Hogan Entrepreneur Program on Wednesday, April 23 at the Mystical Rose Oratory.
Since its inception in 2002, the Hogan Entrepreneur Program has graduated 162 students, including this sixth graduating class of 28. Key note speaker at the induction/ graduation was Hawaii’s Lieutenant Governor Duke Aiona, Jr.
“Hogan students are nurtured to take on roles of leadership through this unique mentorship program,” said Dr. John Webster, program director. “These energetic entrepreneurs and new student innovators undertake a series of courses with training and guidance from corporate and legislative leaders, civic and community service leaders, as well as successful business entrepreneurs who have started everything from restaurants to high tech companies. Wisdom is shared and relationships are built in ways not normally acceptable to students.”
Designed to prepare Chaminade’s top students for entrepreneurial careers, community service and ethical conduct, the Hogan Program appeals to students looking for an extra challenge. Honor students come from diverse backgrounds with a wide spectrum of dreams to match. From across the disciplines– art, science, business, communication, psychology and education majors– the Hogan students dream in commonality of being able to express their talents and unique interests as entrepreneurs, fostering their careers with social responsibility.
In 1998, Ed an Lynn Hogan established the Hogan Family Foundation with the mission to promote a greater understanding of the importance of promoting an entrepreneurial spirit through the creation and operation of educational, civic-minded and humanitarian programs designed to encourage a more productive and contributory society. The foundation’s main educational focus has been with the funding of programs in Entrepreneurial Studies at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington and Chaminade University of Honolulu in Hawaii.
