Defenders of Zoria: Fore Storms is a recently published fantasy novel by none-other than one of Chaminade’s student body, J.F. Casado Perez. Currently a sophomore at Chaminade University, Perez was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. At age eleven he moved to Brick Township, New Jersey, and it was there during his time in Middle School when he began to write Defenders of Zoria, finishing the novel in his senior year. Now attending Chaminade University, he works to earn a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and aspires to receive a Doctorate Degree in Parapsychology.
Perez’s novel, Defenders of Zoria, centers on the character of Tilan, a household slave who is thrown into the battle between good and evil and finds that it is he alone that can change the course of history. Dr. Allison E. Francis, Perez’s English professor at Chaminade, who helped edit the book, calls it a good read. Perez plans to continue his writing with a series of upcoming stories expanded from his novel.
