Filipino experience fills Black Box Theatre
Selected scenes and commentary about the Kumu Kahua Theatre production of “Who the Fil-Am I” brought a capacity audience to Chaminade’s Black Box Theatre on Nov. 21. Six actors from the poignant and humorous play performed several scenes and then invited discussion. Chaminade students, faculty and staff were joined in the audience by visitors from the University of Hawaii and members of the Filipino community, including American Idol finalist, Jasmine Trias. The event, co-sponsored by Chaminade’s communication department and the University of Hawaii Center for Biographical Research, began with commentary by Eva Lindstrom from Chaminade’s communication department; Aurelio Agcaoili, UH professor of Philippine literature and Troy Apostol the play’s author.
Note: Chaminade Weekly – not so weekly
Due to a significant increase in print deadlines, a significant decrease in news content this time of year and busy holiday schedules in the Institutional Advancement office, the Chaminade Weekly will be a bit more sporadic until the next semester begins. Thanks for your patience, and please keep sending us your news. We’ll try our best to make it as often as possible. Happy holidays!
