Comprehensive Exam

Master of Education (M.Ed.)

The Master of Education program consists of 31 credits—a mixture of required core courses and courses in an emphasis area.  Regardless of emphasis area, all M.Ed. students are required to take ED 600,an introductory 1 unit class that introduces them to the M.Ed. program and requirements to prepare for and successfully complete the culminating experience.  ED 601, Understanding Educational Research and Design, is also required prior to taking any other graduate courses.  Over the course of their graduate education candidates will take three additional core courses, five courses in their area of emphasis, and a culminating experience core course in the last semester.

NOTE: There is no guarantee that an emphasis program area will be offered on a regular term to term basis. Please check with your advisor or our front office whether your emphasis program area of interest is being offered as this is highly dependent upon student enrollment in the respective program.
