This information is applicable for students admitted prior to Fall Term, 2007

Comprehensive Exam is held twice a year: March and November

Application Deadline is 1 month prior (i.e due by February 1st for March exam; due by October 1st for November exam)

All applications are submitted to your Field Services Director (advisor) for their signature.

Students may apply for this exam once they have successfully completed 27 credits towards their graduate degree, including all 5 CORE courses (ED652, ED670, ED675, ED685, ED702). Students can be enrolled in the last CORE course at the same time of taking the exam.

March 2008: Comprehensive exam will be sent to qualifying students via e-mail on Saturday, March 8. The exam MUST be returned to us by 5pm on Monday, March 17. Please contact our office if you have any additional questions.

How will the exam be administered?

This will be a take-home exam. This is an OPEN BOOK exam. You may use textbooks, books, notes, articles and journals. You may not consult with any other person(s). You must answer three out of five questions related to your core courses. Before submitting your paper, proofread it carefully and use the rubric. You will be notified when all portions of the exam have been graded. You may turn in your answers in one of these three ways:
a.

b.
Fax to Jeri Dyer at (808)739-4607; or
c.
Turn in paper in person to ED 110.
