CHAMPIONS--LUMANI O' SAMOA TAKE TOP PRIZE
The Chaminade University Samoan Club came in first place this summer in the First Annual PCC Inter Honolulu Schools Samoan Dance Competition. The Chaminade Samoan Club, also known as the Lumani O' Samoa, took top prize in the Colleges and Universities category.Members presented the trophy recently to President Sue Wesselkamper.

"The President said she proudly plans to display it somewhere in Freitas Hall or in her office where people can see it," said Chaminade student and member of the Samoan Club Gary Kakki Elaisha,.'"

OPEN MEETING WITH THE PRESIDENT

Members of the Chaminade 'ohana are invited to come to this year’s last Open Meeting with the President on Mon. Nov. 17 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. We will discuss our upcoming 50th Anniversary Celebration and would like all of your ideas! Share your thoughts about what is going well and what could be improved here at Chaminade. An "open mike" will provide an opportunity to discuss any issue. The meeting will be informal, optional and take place in the Ching Conference Center . All years of service are welcomed. .

AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE: LET'S GIVE THANKS!
Together our campus will give thanks in prayer on Wednesday, November 19 at 12:00 noon in Mystical Rose Oratory. All noon classes are canceled and offices closed, so our entire campus will be able to attend. Please come to our prayer service! For more information, call Kay in Campus Ministry at ext 226.

THANKSGIVING FOOD & CLOTHING DRIVE RUNS THROUGH NEXT WEEK
Campus Ministry and RHA will be sponsoring Chaminade's Thanksgiving Food and Clothing Drive November 17 - 21. Gather up your nonperishable food, toiletry items, cleaning supplies, and clothing. Look for drop boxes scattered around campus. And make your donation. Cash donations will also be accepted and should be brought directly to Campus Ministry in Henry Hall Room 28/30. Your help will support the efforts of St. Patrick's Outreach Program, Institute of Human Services (I.H.S.) and the Hawaii Food Bank. Questions may be directed to Bro. Brian at 440-4289

STUDY ABROAD IN INDIA
Tuesday, November 18 at 7:30pm in the Henry Hall AV Room, two of our students, Delihda Waltu and Melanie Jones, will present on their trip to India last summer. They will share about their study abroad experience through stories and photos and answer questions of students and faculty. Chaminade University will once again sponsor two students to India next summer. Students will travel with a group from our sister school, the University of Dayton. Scholarship money is available. Applications will be distributed on Tuesday evening and will also be available outside the Campus Ministry Office. Deadline for applying is Friday, January 16th. To be eligible for the trip, students must be full time, have completed one full year of academic study, be in good health and provide two letters of recommendation. Please share this important and exciting opportunity with your students! Questions may be directed to Bro. Brian at 440-4289.

FINANCIAL PLANNING SEMINAR REMINDER
Chaminade's Personnel Office is offering another great financial planning seminar to the university's faculty and staff this month. Conducted by Jeff White, Certified Financial Planner, the seminar, titled Women Taking Charge of Their Money, will be conducted in the Audio Visual room in Henry Hall 109. In order for everyone to have a chance to attend the seminar will be presented twice on the same date.

FACULTY COLLOQUIUM
Come to the next Faculty Colloquium, Wednesday, November 19 in Henry 109, 12 noon to 1:00 pm. Dave Coleman, Yukio Ozaki, Koreen Schroeder will speak on the topic of "Collegium." Refreshments will be served.

MAUI INVITATIONAL COUNTDOWN -- ONE WEEK AWAY

Rotaract Club students are still selling entertainment books on campus to get to the Chaminade Silverswords Hoops Clinic (November 23) and the Chaminade Silverswords Maui Invitational Tournament (November 24). The Entertainment Book 2004 costs $30 and provides great savings at restaurants and for various activities. The coupons are valid NOW through November 1, 2004. CHAMINADE THEATRE PRODUCTION OPENS THURSDAY
Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, directed by Fr. Robert Bouffier, will be performed on November 20, 21, 22, and 23 in the Sacred Heart Little Theatre, located on the Sacred Heart Academy High School campus in its auditorium. All performances start at 8:00pm and are free. The Glass Menagerie is one of the most famous plays in modern theater and an American classic, which portrays a fragile family clinging to illusions, rather than face the realities in their lives. FACULTY ART EXHIBIT CONTINUES
Under the Cap and Gown: Passion Behind Academia

The exhibit explores the spirit of Chaminade faculty and staff. Held in The Gallery at Sullivan Library in Henry Hall, exhibition dates run through Dec 11 during library hours.

DINING ETIQUETTE

Want to learn how to eat with the right fork and talk with a business colleague or boss at the same time?

Career Services is offering a free Dining Etiquette Course with free food and drinks on Tuesday, November 18, 2003 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Silversword Cafe . Charles Sasaki will take students through the way to hold a glass, make small talk and what cutlery to use and when. To attend, students need to enroll with Career Services by 4:00 pm on Friday November 14, 2003 . This is a great course especially for seniors! Food, fun, practicality!
